Tanya Stephens New Video World Premiere this Friday

Kingston, Jamaica (PRWEB) July 16, 2011

With the anticipation rapidly mounting for the official release of the film Ghetta Life, more excitement has been added to the mix with the release of the official music video for the Tanya Stephens title track. The music video is scheduled for premiere on TVJs Entertainment Report (ER) this Friday (July 16).

The film has been generating its own share of praises and awards for the high production value, captivating storyline and compelling visuals. The same buzz associated with the film is expected for the title track accompanying music video.

The first major ingredient is Tanya Stephens at her soulful and melodic best, performing potent lyrics to an equally potent rhythm. It was only fitting that the visuals to accompany this music video match the quality, theme and imagery created by the tune.

Guinness partnered with the Ghetta Life crew to put together the music video. Gary Dixon, Brand Manager for Guinness said that, the aim was to partner with Ghetta Life and Tanya Stephens, who both align with Guinness vision of reaching for greatness. Guinness also enjoys product placement in the feature film.

The music video was shot by acclaimed director of Ghetta Life, Chris Browne, who injected his signature brand of talent into the video for the movies soundtrack. By his own admission, he had to match the video with the high standard of both the film and its title track.

Once we had a rough cut of the film Tanya came and saw it and wrote Get a Life specifically for it. The song is powerful in its lyrics and message and became the anthem for the film. It was important to us to do a video with Tanya that showcased not only Tanya but the theme of the film as well, he explains.

As Browne continues, the preference was for simplicity and symbolism above extravagance, since the films issues and themes are already complex.

In the end I opted for a simple performance piece of Tanya singing the song intercut with a scenes of the film which best illustrates the song. It's a slow song, so I wanted long takes of Tanya singing but with movemen. I also wanted an urban setting and so I choose to shoot in the Grants Pen gully which is straight but lined on either side with rusty zinc.

Brown also used technical skill to boost the visual creativity of the music video. I also used a steadicam from the back of a moving vehicle as Tanya walked behind us. I choose to shoot it in slow motion and speeded up the song to match in editing. The sync worked out nicely. We coloured each segment differently and added flare effect, he explains.

Browne asserts that based on how the music video was shot, the film will be able to stand out as an individual music video even though it represents the film, and this will be appreciated by overseas audiences.Tanyas song not only represents the film but it stands along as a song in its own right. For now, the song will present the film to the wider music audience, not only in Jamaica but to the diaspora abroad.

Ghetta Life was co-produced by Natalie Thompson and its impressive cast includes Carl Davis Teddy Price, Karen Robinson among others. It is set against the backdrop of Kingstons inner-city, and explores one boys attempt to achieve boxing glory, despite the political divide that threatens to tear his community and country apart. His journey takes him on a path that will force him to defy his family and his community and the result will either destroy him or bring his community together.

Tanya Stephens Getta Life vidoe world premieres on Friday, July 15. The video will be available on the films yputube page : http://youbtube.com/GhettaLife. Ghetta Life the movie opens in theatres islandwide on Friday, July 29.

Sage Hospitality Teams with Clean the World to Donate Toiletries to Impoverished Nations

Denver, CO (Vocus/PRWEB) March 30, 2011

Who knew the spare piece of soap could be an effective weapon in the war against hygiene-related illness? Hotel management group Sage Hospitality has teamed with the non-profit organization Clean the World to put leftover guest bath products to good use, stopping the spread of preventable diseases in impoverished populations around the globe. The partnership is the latest example of the culture of sustainability and corporate social responsibility that have long been a focus of Sage Hospitality.

In the lead-up to Earth Day, 40 of Sage Hospitalitys properties nationwide, including Denvers The Curtis a Doubletree by Hilton Hotel and the Renaissance Pittsburgh Hotel, have joined in the effort with Clean the World. The non-profit provides Sage hotels with bins for housekeeping staff to deposit used soap and shampoo bottles, which are picked up weekly and recycled into 2-ounce bars of soap for distribution to local homeless shelters and impoverished nations. The earthquake-stricken nation of Haiti, for example, is channeled for direct distribution.

Were very excited to be working with an organization as socially aware as Clean the World, said Walter Isenberg, CEO of Sage Hospitality. We at Sage are devoted to philanthropic and environmental issues and look forward to partnering with this cause.

Since launching its effort in 2009, Clean the World has eliminated more than 340 tons of waste: Thats 5 million bars of soap and 35.5 million tons of shampoo and conditioner now reused for human benefit.

Among Sage Hospitalitys other recent socially responsible initiatives are the Best In Class school partnership program encouraging employee volunteerism at at-risk and urban schools and the Green Choice program enabling guests to reduce their carbon footprint by declining daily housekeeping. The hotel group holds an annual conference to honor properties and employees that are models of such responsibility.
