OpenView Labs Hosts Content Marketing Workshop With Content Marketing Institutes Joe Pulizzi and Robert Rose

Boston, MA (PRWEB) October 19, 2011

Last week expansion stage venture capital firm OpenView Venture Partners hosted its portfolio companies for a 2-day workshop on content marketing. The workshop was organized by the OpenView Labs team to help the portfolio companies improve their execution against content marketing strategies and specifically how to best develop a content marketing plan to attract and retain new customers.

Over the past few years many of our portfolio companies have executed against various content marketing tactics. We organized this workshop to provide our portfolio marketing teams with a framework to manage a content marketing program more efficiently and effectively, said Brian Zimmerman, Managing Director of OpenView Labs.

Topics included building the business case around content marketing, creating a story, identifying the right marketing channels, building the right team to support your content marketing effort, mapping your content and editorial calendars to your sales funnel and buying cycle, in addition to measuring success in content marketing.

Joe Pulizzi, Senior Advisor to OpenView and founder of Content Marketing Institute, and Robert Rose, Strategist in Residence at the Content Marketing Institute, led the day and a half long session. The workshop was comprised of presentations and discussion across the participants.

OpenView's Content Marketing Workshop delivered clear and concise takeaways for entrepreneurs and marketers to take back and implement now. After attending the workshop, it's clearer than ever to the Monetate marketing team that by using content to solve our customers' problems--ideally before they even have the problem--can solidify relationships and differentiate our solution from the competitor. Joe Pulizzi and Robert Rose presented the workshop in a unique way by understanding the needs of the companies who attended while introducing everyone to seeing their customers as publishers and not just as marketers, said Rob Yoegel, Content Marketing Director of Monetate.

The presenters and content were excellent of course and so was the interaction, the facilitation and the overall setup. The seminar was informative and enjoyable at the same time! added Zikria Syed, CEO of NextDocs.

Washington, DC (PRWEB) November 5, 2010

On October 24 and 25, 2010, an exceptional and diverse group of thought-leaders, authors, communications experts, technologists, engineers, and scientists gathered for the first Science UnSummit, at the conclusion of the inaugural USA Science and Engineering Festival in Washington DC.

While the Festival, which is geared toward reinvigorating US interest in the Sciences, engaged the hands and minds of many younger fans of science with its grand-finale expo on the National Mall just a few blocks away, participants in the Science UnSummit 2010 were discussing the development and retention of talented scientists once they join the field. The emerging crisis related to acquiring, retaining, and nurturing top talent from the next generation of US scientists as other countries begin to take a lead role in training for scientific research was discussed within the larger context of how we do science in the US and abroad.

After hearing a series of presentations from panelists who had successfully applied new organizational approaches to fields ranging from business to software development, the group focused its collective intelligence on how to transfer these methodologies to the domain of science.

The UnSummit utilized innovative Open Space Technology, in which participants established the agenda and moved freely between working sessions that interested them. To kick off the discussions, Harrison Owen, the developer of Open Space, gave a keynote talk on his experiences with systems of science. Harrison has worked with a variety of organizations including the National Institutes of Health, the Veterans Administration, small West African villages, urban (American and African) community organizations, the Peace Corps, and regional medical programs, to help each of them transform their communities.

The assembled participants included members of several scientific agencies in Washington DC as well as engineers and scientists at various stages in their careers. The organizer of the upcoming Beijing, China Science Festival, Jie Geng, was also in attendance.

The Open Space sessions addressed many facets of the serious organizational challenges confronting science in the 21st century and possible solutions, including: improving science communication (led by the dramaturge Steve Marsh who has been involved in actor Alan Alda's groundbreaking Center for Communicating Science at Stony Brook University); finding work/life balance in a scientific career; what science can learn from the principles of Agile Software Development; practices developed by engineers in the aerospace industry to create exceptional working teams; and more.

My hope is that the incredible talent, energy, and passion shared at this event will provide the seeds for novel projects and collaborations needed to develop our scientific talent in this country stated Kennan Salinero, founder of Y

Los Angeles Number One Scooter Shop, Route 66 Modern Classics, Hosts Celebrity Scooter Ride with Tom Hanks to the Hollywood Red Carpet Premiere of LARRY CROWNE

Marina Del Rey, CA (PRWEB) July 13, 2011

Glenn Alan Bartels, President of Route 66 Modern Classics, the number one scooter shop in Los Angeles, CA, is proud to announce the success of his most recent celebrity red carpet event; 100 - plus scooter brigade to accompany fellow Genuine Buddy scooter owner, Tom Hanks to the premier of his new movie, Larry Crowne, on June 27th, 2011.

"This is the perfect film at the perfect time. Americans are dealing with the exact issues portrayed in the movie, Larry Crowne. We have a poor economy, the downsizing of jobs, and people trying to save money by riding scooters to beat high gas prices," explains Glenn Bartels. "Scooters are super economical and fashionable."

The parking lot of Route 66 Modern Classics was packed with a diverse array of scooters on the evening of the premier. A Dijon yellow Genuine Stella scooter, complete with a side car covered in black checkerboard graphics and a Crown Taxi image, was an obvious crowd favorite; cleverly referencing Tom Hanks scooter-riding character, Larry Crowne. The other riders, sporting vintage Vespas and Lambrettas as well as new Genuine Buddy and Stella scooters, intermingled as they awaited the start of the 12 mile ride to Hollywood Blvd.

"After spending twelve exhausting weeks creating the majority of the scooters used in the production of the film, I was curious as to what plans Tom Hanks had in mind for his movie premiere, so a couple months ago, I contacted his assistant and whispered my idea to her," says Bartels. "I was envisioning a massive scooter ride with Tom Hanks leading the entire pack!"

The idea managed to circulate, first to Tom, and then over to Universal Pictures. It wasnt until about a month ago, however, that Bartels received a phone call from Playtone informing him that Universal would be contacting him about the premiere scooter ride. "No sooner had I ended the call with Playtone when the call from Universal came in asking me if I could put together 100 scooter riders to ride the red carpet with Tom Hanks, explains Bartels, a question to which his answer was an enthusiastic, "Of course I can!"

At exactly 6:30pm, Tom Hanks arrived and greeted all the riders in his usual affable manner; stopping to chat and shake hands with each rider. After a brief interview and photo opportunity it was time to ride the red carpet. Hanks fired up his old blue Yamaha, revved the engine, pumped his fist in the air and said, Lets Roll!

Hanks, with Bartels, and the entire pack of 100 scooters in his wake, rolled onto Hollywood Blvd, which was barricaded from throngs of cheering spectators in every direction. Bartels had a chance to walk the red carpet, conducting interviews regarding scooter culture and how it pertains to the film. The riders were then treated to the premier showing of Larry Crowne, followed by a private after-party at Rolling Stone Caf
